Essay about Smokers are Contaminating Our Air - 1028 Words
As of right now, Americans are polluting each other through the effect of smoking. The transparent fume inhaled by others unexpectedly is called passive smoking or second hand smoking. Nonsmokers are being greatly affected from the harmful effects of passive smoking. Hence, smokers should smoke in areas where they wonââ¬â¢t affect anyone. Passive smoking is inhaled through both sidestream and mainstream smoking. Sidestream smoking is the fumes emitted from the cigarette that lingers in the air and mainstream smoking is the inhale and exhale smoke into the environment from the smoker. Home, as frightening as it may sound, is one of the areas where many people are affected from passive smoking. Children especially are in danger at their own home. I have witness the effects of second hand smoking in one of my family members. As of right now, my aunt has a weak lung due to inhaling so much smoke when she was young. Every day her father would smoke from morning till night; their house was like a gas chamber. Now every morning she would cough, every night she would cough, every activity she would cough. Itââ¬â¢s not the cough that people would do when they are sick; itââ¬â¢s like a cough when you have a piece ofShow MoreRelatedArgumentative Essay About Why Smoking Should Be Banned1047 Words à |à 5 PagesBan Smoking in Public Places Smoking is one of the leading causes of preventable deaths in the United States, and doing it in public is even worse because smokers not only harm themselves, but also those around them. I remember how my great uncle would always smoke in his house regardless of his surroundings. When his daughter visited him for a vacation, she brought her three year old daughter with her. In a similar way, greenhouse gases are essential for our planet; the planet may be able to deal with slightly increased levels of such gases, but too much will affect the health of the whole planet.
